Girls tennis regional: Bloomington South goes down swinging to Brownsburg

The Bloomington South girls’ tennis team saw its season come to an end in the semifinals of the Terre Haute North Regional on Tuesday in loss to Brownsburg.

The Panthers’ lone win came at No. 2 singles where Brooke Liao prevailed, 6-4, 6-4.
Maddie Santner forced a third set at No. 1 singles, coming back from a 6-3 loss to win 6-4. But Brownsburg senior Emma Jones finished it off with a third set win, 6-1.

 

 

The Bulldogs swept the doubles as Carla Demeter and Hannah Vandeventer fell at No. 1, 6-1, 6-1 and the No. 2 team of Everly Clark and Quinn Reynolds battled to a 6-4, 6-2 defeat. At 3 singles, Carlota Campos lost 6-3, 6-1.
On Wednesday, South finishes 10-10 while Brownsburg will play Terre Haute South for the title .
