Constitution Hill’s Impressive Gallop

Nicky Henderson’s champion hurdle favorite, Constitution Hill, showcased his impressive fitness during a recent pre-festival gallop at Kempton. Running alongside stablemates That’s Nice and Aston Martini, Nico de Boinville’s mount effortlessly completed the exercise, easing any lingering concerns regarding his condition. This performance highlighted Constitution Hill’s remarkable talent as he enters the crucial Cheltenham Festival period.

A Stellar Record to Defend

The eight-year-old Constitution Hill has maintained an unbeaten record in his career, with ten victories under rules. Out of those, eight have been achieved at the highest level, emphasizing his stature as one of the top contenders in the sport. However, the memories of last year’s challenges still loom large, particularly a setback during his warm-up gallop that was attributed to a respiratory infection. This unfortunate event prevented him from defending his Unibet Champion Hurdle crown.

Overcoming Previous Setbacks

Last year was riddled with complications for Constitution Hill, as he faced additional challenges, including colic, which cut his campaign short. Following a labored effort behind stablemate Sir Gino, the champion experienced a period of lameness that delayed his return to racing until an impressive triumph in the Christmas Hurdle on Boxing Day. With his recent gallop, it seems that Constitution Hill is back on track and ready to reclaim his title at the upcoming Cheltenham Festival.
